Weld RE-4 Universal Scholarship
The Weld RE-4 Universal Scholarship Application is now open to the graduating class of 2026 at SHS and WHS
With one application, students can apply for 15 different local scholarships available exclusively to the Severance High School and Windsor High School students graduating in the 2025-2026 school year. These scholarships are funded by generous community members and organizations, and support students pursuing trade programs, community or two-year colleges, and four-year universities.
The Universal Scholarship Application is due by 9:00 A.M. MST on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted. Students are strongly encouraged to use Winter Break to begin the application process.
What is the Weld RE-4 Universal Scholarship Application?
- This scholarship application offers Weld RE-4 seniors the opportunity to apply for up to fifteen different local scholarships.
- “Local” means that the scholarships that are listed are ONLY available to seniors who will graduate from Severance High School or Windsor High School this year.
- “Universal Scholarship Application” means that you are filling out ONE application for MULTIPLE scholarships. Each scholarship has different criteria and may have additional requirements.
- WHS and SHS seniors graduating in December 2025, and juniors and seniors graduating in May 2026 are eligible to apply.

The following scholarships are intended for Windsor High School or Severance High School Students, please see requirements for each scholarship.
Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects
Description:
This scholarship is open to students who plan to pursue a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Environmental Studies and have achieved a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher in high school. Funds will be available at the beginning of the first semester upon proof of enrollment at a two or four-year institution in one of the eligible fields of study and will be paid directly to the institution. $1000 will be awarded to a student from Windsor High School and $1000 will be awarded to a student from Severance High School. Arlene LeGrand Bright Start Scholarship
Description:
This scholarship is for students whose GPA is in the range of 2.8 to 3.0 with preference given to those who will study in construction trades or enroll in trade schools and to those with financial need. This scholarship was established by Lakeside Consultants in memory of Arlene LeGrand. The company headquarters is in Chicago but does business in Colorado. Read the full requirements in the catalog.
Colberg Family Scholarship
Description:
This scholarship is established in memory of Craig S. Colberg, MD, by his wife, Denise, who taught at Windsor Middle School for 21 years and daughter, Callie, who taught at WMS for 16 years and moved to Ridgeline Middle School in 2025. As much as Craig loved his medical practice, he equally loved his role as an instructor for third-year medical students and family practice residents. He was extremely grateful for the many fine educators he had throughout his life who provided him with the education he needed to realize his goal of becoming a doctor.
This scholarship will be awarded to a student graduating from Windsor High School who intends to pursue a degree in either the teaching or health care field while attending a Colorado college or university. This is a merit-based scholarship meant to recognize a student of integrity who has demonstrated active involvement in their school.
Special Eligibility Requirements:
Windsor High School students only
Minimum GPA 3.0
Pursuing a degree in health care or education at a Colorado college or university
Upload: Short essay outlining your goals and aspirations for the future including the name of the post-secondary institution selected, and intended area of study. 500 word maximum.
Upload: Letter of Recommendation from a community member (not the student’s teacher or coach), who knows the applicant.
Upload: Letter of Recommendation from a WHS teacher/coach/counselor who knows the applicant.
Students with involvement in their school community will be given preference
Award Notes:
The scholarship will be awarded for the first semester of enrollment.
The recipient must provide proof of first semester enrollment at a Colorado college or university. Proof of enrollment can include a tuition statement or a copy of the student's registration and schedule. Email documentation to kelly.moll@weldre4.org.
Funds will be paid directly to the institution

DLR Group Scholarship
Description:
The DLR Group empowers learners through a forward-looking research-informed design focus that delivers transformational opportunity and fulfillment for all. The applicant intends to pursue a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Environmental Studies. $1,000 will be awarded to a student from WHS and $1,000 will be awarded to a student from SHS. Karen J Trusler Scholarship
Description:
This scholarship is sponsored by the Weld RE-4 Educational Foundation in honor of Karen J. Trusler, who has been a dedicated teacher, principal, superintendent, and Board of Education member in our school district for nearly four decades. During that time, Trusler has been a leader within the district and an active member of the greater Windsor/Severance community. This scholarship is meant to recognize a student who has demonstrated similar leadership, integrity, and community involvement. Strong extracurricular and co-curricular involvement in school and/or community will be considered. $500 will be awarded to a student from Severance High School and $500 will be awarded to a student from Windsor High School. The award will be given once the student has completed one semester of college and has attained a 3.0 grade point average. Please read the full requirements in the catalog.
Rich LeGrand Bright Start Scholarship

Richard and Valerie Huwa Scholarship
Description:
This scholarship was established by Richard and Valerie Huwa of Greeley, Colorado, through the Weld RE-4 Education Foundation, in furtherance of the Huwas' longtime commitment to the schools and students of the Weld RE-4 district.
Though not a requirement, preference may be given to students who are the first generation of the student’s family to pursue a college education. The Foundation will award the student the sum of $1,000, with payment of the scholarship funds directly to the college or university in which the student is enrolled.
